 Kindermusik® Village Class Ages: Newborn to 18 months old
Imagine your child swinging softly in a blanket or dancing with you around a maypole. Village provides a delightful environment unlike any other. Through a unique blend of multi-level activities that includes creative movement, vocal play, object and instrument exploration, and a colorful literature component, your babys growth and development are stimulated and all of his senses engaged.
Kindermusik Village, for children newborn to 1½ years of age, incorporates the most current research on early childhood development and provides families a special place for learning and connecting with other parents and babies through music and movement. High quality, professionally created class and At Home materials include Kindermusik Foundations of Learning, insights based on current research that educate parents about their babies' unique development. Each Village term includes eight 45-minute class sessions. Parents attend the entire class with their children.

Kindermusik is much more than a weekly class. And your At Home materials you receive from your educator are just the tools you need to continue that one-of-a-kind experience together as a family. While we plant the seeds of learning through music in the classroom, you will use the At Home materials at home to cultivate lifelong learning.
Family involvement in your childs learning is a fundamental cornerstone of the Kindermusik philosophy because we believe the parent is the childs most important teacher and the home is the most important place for a childs learning to take root and grow. After all, theres no better way to nurture your childs development and youll love doing it together every day!

Feathers
The musical poems of Woody Guthrie, bird songs, and the naturally occurring sounds in nature help babies develop an early appreciation—and accelerated aptitude—for language, movement, and music in this eight-week semester.
Home Materials include CD with over 25 specially-selected recordings from class, Kindermusik chimeball, a colorful picture book of birds—Feathers, and a set of Art Banners for the nursery wall that strengthens vision and promotes early literacy.

Do-Si-Do
Pick up your baby and dance. Do the Charleston, the Tango, and the Cha-Cha and learn why dancing with your baby helps her develop vital learning skills—from head to toe. In this eight-week semester, play over 25 unique instruments and home-made activities.
Home Materials include CD with songs from class, an instrument—Kindermusik eggshaker and scarf, a picture board book—Do-Si-Do—with lilting move-to-it rhyming text, and a set of Art Banners for the nursery wall that strengthens vision and promotes early literacy.

Zoom Buggy!
Swoosh, vroom, and clickety-clack your way through this delightful unit. Babies and adults will dance, sing, and play instruments to the theme of being on the go. Chug around the room to the song “Little Red Caboose,” hold on tightly while “Riding in the Buggy,” and dance your way to “Zoom-e-oh!” Engage in rituals and playful activities such as infant massage, lap bounces, exercise, and quiet time.

Dream Pillow
This title alone brings images of rocking, cuddling, singing, and lulling to sleep. But leading up to sleepy time are many upbeat and playful activities. Babies and adults will swirl to a dreamy cloud dance “Meet Me Tonight in Dreamland.” They’ll also play baby appropriate instruments to “Aiken Drum,” and “Sarasponda.” Favorite nursery rhymes like “Wee Willie Winkie,” and “Diddle, Diddle, Dumpling,” are sprinkled throughout the classes. It’s easy to weave many of the class songs and activities into your family’s daily routines.

Hickory, Dickory, Tickle and Bounce
Through a unique blend of multi-level activities that includes creative movement, vocal play, object and instrument exploration, and a colorful literature component, your baby’s growth and development are stimulated and all of his senses engaged. During each 45 minute class Baby’s language development is encouraged through the rhythmic nature of favorite childhood nursery rhymes. Using basic American Sign Language this unit offers parents a new way to communicate with Baby before s/he is ready for verbal speech.

Rhythm of My Day
With an introduction to sign language and highlighted by the concept of a family's daily rituals and routines, The Rhythm of My Day is designed to help parents incorporate music into many of the regular routines found throughout their daily life. Lesson focuses also highlight several other key concepts like diversity of sound, stop and go, syncopation, and singing. Favorite activities and songs featured in The Rhythm of My Day include “Let Me Call You Sweetheart,” “Golden Slumbers,” “Walk All Around,” and “Ally Bally.”

Cock-a-Doodle-Moo Hop on the hayride—it’s time to head for the farm! Families will sing songs about the farm, including “Old MacDonald,” “Hayride,” “You Are My Sunshine,” a Swedish rhythm song and a beautiful Armenian lullaby. They’ll engage in rituals and playful activities for baby and caregiver, including infant massage, lap bounces, exercise, and quiet time.

DewDrops
Step into the middle of a flower garden, see the Dew Drops glisten in the morning sun and feel the cool breeze blow! Varying styles of music are represented from the lively Celtic dance of the Belfast Hornpipe to the gentle, soothing melody of Scarborough Fair. Whether hammocking, dancing a jig, exploring a drum, singing a lullaby or using a mirror in vocal play activities, you and Baby will celebrate the joys of music and your special relationship.
