Homework Help for children

These are homework assignments saved from my kindergarten teaching experience. If you want your child to get a taste of academics, the corresponding links offer some great skills practice. Check out the "Online Activities" page for more math and language arts fun.

ABC's and Tying Shoes
All Subjects
This week help your child practice saying the alphabet and tying shoes. If you try the online alphabet game below, you should NOT expect your child to find the letters on the keyboard without help. The purpose of this activity is to SAY the letters in order.

This assignment involves following directions to put items in a certain order, using the words first, second, third, fourth, and fifth.
The links I've listed require some reading, and Squigly's Apples includes ordinals to "tenth." These, however, were the most appropriate activities I could find on the web.

Understanding the Concept of Time

Students will demonstrate ability to sequence events. They will also tell the difference between the hour and minute hands and use a paper clock to show time to the hour.
Note: At the FunSchool site below, it will be necessary to go to page 4 and scroll through the list of games until you see "What's the Order?". When you visit the Literacy Center site, click on "Numbers" and then on the "8" tab at the top of the screen for the clock activity.
